ABOUT ME

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors) with a Masters degree in Counselling. I have advanced training in Collaborative Divorce and work with individuals and couples to navigate the difficult process of separation and divorce, including developing Parenting Plans for co-parenting children after separation. I also have a background as a lawyer and registered nurse.

I bring a broad range of experience to my counselling practice, including extensive work in a variety of aspects of mental health and wellness. My approach to counselling could be described as eclectic in that I utilize aspects of many theories for therapy without strictly adhering to any one approach. In general, my approach to counselling is to walk with my clients as they go through their own inner exploration and personal development.  I see myself as a facilitator and privileged companion to the client’s process.

My goal in working with clients is to facilitate greater self-understanding and to encourage them to adopt new attitudes, feelings and approaches towards life situations. To accomplish this, I utilize  a variety of psychotherapy methods. I believe that making even small changes can bring life-altering results. It is important to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix but rather an exploratory and healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the client and therapist alike. My approach to therapy is personalized to suit each individual client’s needs.
