Parenting & Family Counselling
Family dynamics are complex and it is often helpful to work with a counsellor to clarify issues and improve relationships amongst family members. Whether the parents in the family are together or apart, I work with all members of the family to increase mutual understanding and find pathways to improved communication and relationships. In some situations, it is important to meet with just the parents to strategize about how to deal with issues that are arising or to simply explore ways to deal with the various challenges that arise as children grow and develop. In other situations, it is important to meet with the family as a whole. Often, it is a combination of both of these approaches that is most effective.

In any case, I believe that each situation is different and requires a unique approach, which is developed in consultation with those involved in therapy. Whether there is significant conflict or simply some emerging concerns, it is never too early or too late to seek help in improving family relationships.
